Here are some of the Premier MRI Patient Instructions when arriving at our office location.
Please remember to bring your prescription, insurance card, and ID card for your appointment.
PLEASE ALERT THE OFFICE IMMEDIETLY IF YOU HAVE ANY OF SUCH ITEMS: Do you have implanted devices, metal, aneurism clips, pacemakers, pregnancy and/ kidney conditions?
MRI – MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
- For questions or insurance/billing matters, please call us at 862-520-1962 before your appointment.
- Those who are pregnant or have heart valves may be excluded from MRI.
- Patients with pacemakers, cochlear implants and aneurysm clips are excluded from MRI.
- Please notify our office at Premier MRI if patient has metal implant or is a diabetic.
- No jewelry, hairpins, or clips. Wear loose fitting clothing, no zippers or spandex.
In preparation for your exam
Wear comfortable clothing that does not contain metal fasteners and zippers.
- Do not wear jewelry, eye makeup or hair clips.
- Arrive 20 minutes early for your scheduled appointment and bring all Insurance cards and forms.
- If your exam involves injection, please do not eat prior to the exam.
- Call your referring doctor to see if your test requires pre-authorization or referral prior to the exam.
- Consult with your doctor if you are on diabetic medicine. Some medicine should be stopped a day before and two days after exam.
Sedation
If you are planning on taking sedation medication, you will need to get a prescription filled from your referring physician. Please call us at 862-520-1962 prior to taking your sedation medication. For safety reasons, you must arrange for someone to transport you to and from your scan.
Report Result Availability
The exam results are typically available after radiologist interpretation, possibly 24 to 48 hours following your exam. Please be advised that due to HIPAA compliance regulations, we will not permitted to read the results over the phone. Of course, the results are also generally available to your referring doctor about 1 to 2 business days after most exams.
